In the State of New Hampshire all dogs are required to be licensed after the age of 4 months and must be licensed by the 30th of April each year. According to RSA 466:13, any owner or keeper of a dog who fails to license the dog pursuant to RSA 466:1 shall forfeit $25.00 (civil forfeiture) to the city clerk of the municipality in which the dog is kept.

You can bring these items to the City Clerk's Office during normal business hours or mail them to us with the appropriate fee.

If you have licensed your dog in Dover before, the City Clerk's office will send out Licensing Reminders in the month of March and pet owners can either come into the City Clerk's Office or mail a copy of the current rabies and the fee to the City Clerk's Office.
