The Charities also supports initiatives that help the police department prevent crime, improve community safety and otherwise do a better job of policing in Dover. Examples of some of the things the Charities has done include:
Helped the Police Department buy the first horse for the Mounted Patrol when it was started and has received donations to support the Mounted Patrol even since.
Provides support each year for Dover Crimeline, a non-profit organization established to help promote law and order in our community by bringing citizens, police and the media together in a coordinated effort to solve crimes through an anonymous awards program.
Supports the Senior Volunteer Program, an opportunity for older retired individuals to contribute to the community by assisting the Police Department in a variety of non-enforcement activities.
And provides support for many other events or activities.
